While searching for organizations to help start her own business, Linda Olson identified an unsolved problem – Tampa Bay lacked a robust ecosystem to support startups through their early business challenges – which led to her founding the Tampa Bay Wave in 2008. What started as a meetup of like-minded entrepreneurs has grown to become a multi-faceted "by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs" organization to foster the growth of tech-enabled startups in the Tampa Bay area and beyond.
Tampa Bay Wave is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing support directly to startups through curated 90 day accelerator programs, its CORE program for year-round support, and its Venture Center which provides office space and community for entrepreneurs located in downtown Tampa.
