Building a Stronger Path for Florida Founders: Tampa Bay Wave, Florida High Tech Corridor Expand Partnership
Strong innovation ecosystems are built through sustained collaboration. That’s why Tampa Bay Wave is expanding its longstanding partnership with the Florida High Tech Corridor, creating a deeper, multi-year collaboration to support innovation-driven companies across Central Florida.
Building on The Corridor’s previous support of Wave’s HealthTech|X Accelerator, the expanded collaboration will create new opportunities for high-growth startups throughout The Corridor’s 23-county region. The partnership will also help connect companies affiliated with the Corridor’s Cenfluence industry cluster initiative to Wave’s founder-focused programs, resources, networks and growth opportunities, creating stronger pathways for entrepreneurs to build, scale and thrive across the region.
Creating more opportunities to scale
Through the expanded collaboration, Wave and The Corridor will develop a pipeline to prepare and connect companies with Wave accelerator programs. The organizations will also align programming around founder needs and explore future accelerator focus areas based on regional industry strengths, emerging technologies and market opportunities.
“The Corridor has stood behind Wave founders for more than a decade,” said Tampa Bay Wave Founder and CEO Linda Olson. “With this new, expanded partnership, we’re putting a formal, multi-year framework around the work that’s already proven itself.”
The partnership will also expand accelerator-readiness and investor-readiness programming. Wave-affiliated companies will have access to The Corridor’s FL FAST initiative, which helps startups prepare to compete for nondilutive federal funding through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs.
Strengthening Florida’s innovation ecosystem
By more closely connecting Wave’s accelerator programs with The Corridor’s regional network and resources, the partnership can create more opportunities for entrepreneurs to move from innovation toward commercialization and growth.
It’s also another step toward a more connected Florida innovation ecosystem, one where partnerships across communities help promising companies access the resources they need to build and scale.
